Story of Lewis S. Meharg
Lewis is believed to be the only child of John and Nancy Rebecca Hammond Meharg. John and Nancy are believed to have died when Lewis was a child.

Lewis is believed to have been born in 1812 in George or South Carolina. On his headstone, tho, it shows Tennessee as his place of birth. It is believed that his parents were migrating west when he was born and really did not know exactly where they were.

Children of Lewis and Sarah Willis Meharg
Lewis Meharg and Sarah Willis, daughter of G. W. Willis, were married about 1837 in Ohatchee, Calhoun County, Alabama. Their children were:
